Uninstall Dial-up Networking for Windows 95 and 98

Make Sure to have your Windows 95 or 98 Setup CD Handy!

  1. Double Click My Computer, then Double Click Dial-Up Networking.
  2. Right Click on the Rural Network connection icon.
  3. Go to Delete and delete that icon.
  4. Close Dial-Up Networking and Double Click on Control Panel.
  5. Double Click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
  6. Click the Windows Setup tab.
  7. Double Click the Communications Line from the list of components.
  8. Uncheck Dial-Up Networking. It may prompt you to uninstall Direct Cable Connection, also. Click Yes, if this is the case.
  9. Click OK and then OK again.
  10. Close all your Windows and Reboot your computer.
Now you are ready to do the Installation Instructions for either Windows 95 or 98.
