Outlook Express Win 95 and Win 98 1st ed.
HOW TO ADD MAILBOXES IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS
For Outlook Express in Windows 95 and Early Windows 98
- Double Click on Outlook Express.
- Go to the Tools Menu and click on Inbox Assistant and Click Add.
- In the Properties box, type in your email address, in the boxes that you think may apply to you. (Usually the "To:" and "Cc:". All messages coming to you must meet all of the specified criteria before they are filtered into your new mailbox).
- In the Perform the following action area, select the Move to:. Click on the highlighted Folder Button on the right.
- The Move Box opens, make sure Outlook Express is highlighted and then Click on the New Folder button on the right hand side.
- Type in the Name you want the folder called, Ex.Harry's Mail, and Click OK.
- Double Click on Your New Folder and Click "OK".
- At the Inbox Assistant window Click "OK".
- Next go to Tools, Accounts, and select the Mail Tab and Add on the right. Then Click Mail.
- Type in Your Name. (This is the Header on the E-Mail that you send.) Click Next.
- Type in Your E-Mail address. Make sure this is the exact E-Mail address you just used in Inbox Assistant. Click Next.
- My Incoming Mail Server is a POP3.
- Incoming Mail Server is Type mail.ruralnetwork.net
IMPORTANT: use lower case letters and no spaces. - Outgoing Mail Server is Type mail.ruralnetwork.net
IMPORTANT: use lower case letters and no spaces. - Click Next
- Incoming Mail Server is Type mail.ruralnetwork.net
- Check "Log On Using"
- POP Account Name: Type in your username. (With out the @ruralnetwork.net.)
- Type in Your Password.
- Click Next.
- Check Connect using my Phone Line. Click Next.
- Check Use and Existing Dial-Up Connection and make sure RNS is in the box underneath. Click Next.
- Click Finish.
On the left side under Outlook Express you should see the new folder that you
have created. By double clicking on that folder you can check or send your messages.
You can add as many email boxes as you want by following the steps from the
beginning.
