Setting Up Outlook Express

For Outlook Express 4.0

  1. Double Click on Outlook Express on your Desktop.
    • If this is a first time setup, jump to step 6 and continue

  2. Click once on the Tools Menu.
  3. Click once on Accounts.
  4. Click once on the Mail Tab.
  5. Click once on Add, and then click on Mail.
  6. Type in your Display Name ex. "The Smith's". Click Next.
  7. Check I already have an email address I would like to use. Put in your email address. (use lower case letters) username@ruralnetwork.net. Click Next.
  8. POP3 is the Incoming Mail Server Type.
    • In the "Incoming Mail" type (use lower case letters): mail.ruralnetwork.net.
    • In the "Outgoing Mail" type (use lower case letters): mail.ruralnetwork.net.
    • Click Next.
  9. Your account name will already be in the right box, but type in your password (use lower case letters). Click Next.
  10. In the Friendly Name box type RNS Mail. Click Next.
  11. Check the box Connect using my phone line. Click Next.
  12. Check the box Use an existing Dialup Connection. In the box below Click on RNS. Click Next.
  13. Click Finish.
