STEPS FOR PUTTING PICTURES ON THE WEB
Step One: Put your pictures in the same directory on your hard drive.
- Go to Start and Run
- Type in Command and hit enter
- At the c:\ prompt, type cd\ and hit enter
- Then make a directory, Type: md pictures and hit enter
- Type exit at c:\ and hit enter
You just made a pictures directory off of your c drive.
Step Two: Scan your picture and save it to c:\pictures\filename.jpg. Filename is the name of your picture and jpg is format that you should save your picture in. JPG is the best format for picture quality.
Step Three: FTPing your pictures to our server. Or you can use your FTP program.
- Go to Start and Run
- Type Command and hit enter
- At the c:\windows\ prompt, type cd\ and hit enter
- Type cd pictures and hit enter
- Type ftp ftp.ruralnetwork.net
- Type in your username and hit enter
- Type in your password and hit enter
- Type cd public_html and hit enter
- Type binary and hit enter
- Type put "filename".jpg and hit enter (example... put weiser.jpg)
- Type quit and hit enter
- Type exit at c:\pictures and hit enter
You have now put a picture on our server. If you are wanting to get a picture on Ebay, you would give them your web page address.
Example: www.ruralnetwork.net/~username/weiser.jpg.
