CONFIGURE PPP 2.5 AND BELOW (USUALLY MAC OS 6.x OR 7.x)

1. Double Click on the Mac hard drive.
2. Double Click on the System Folder.
3. Double Click on the folder labeled Preferences.
4. Select 'PPP Preferences', then drag it to the trash
5. Click on the Special menu, then Select Empty Trash.
6. When asked if you would like to permanently empty the trash, Click OK.
7. Close Preferences, the System Folder, and the Mac hard drive.
8. Click on the Apple Menu, then Click on Control Panels.
9. Double Click on Config PPP.
10. Make sure Hangup on Close and Quiet Mode are the only items check on the page.
11. Make sure Modem Port is selected under Port Name.
12. Make sure Idle Timeout (minutes) is set to 30.
13. Make sure Echo Interval (seconds) is set to Off.
14. Click New.
15. In the Field labeled PPP server name, type in RNS.
16. Click OK.
17. Click Config.
18. Set Port Speed to the speed of your modem (14.4-->19200, 28.8 and 33.6-->38400, 56.6-->57600).
19. Type in Your RNS local Dial-Up number in the Phone Number box.
20. Click Authentication.
21. Type in Your username in the Auth. ID box.
22. Type in Your password in the Password box.
23. Click OK.
24. Click Done.
25. Exit Config PPP.
26. Close Control Panels.
