Mac Remote Access (Usually Mac OS 8.x)
MAC REMOTE ACCESS (USUALLY MAC OS 8.x)
- Click on the Apple Menu, then Click on Control Panels.
- Double Click on Remote Access.
- Put a Dot by Registered User.
- Unless the arrow in the upper left corner of the window is already pointing down, Click on it.
- In the field labeled Name, type in Your username.
- In the field labeled Password, Type in Your password.
- In the field labeled Number, Type in your RNS local Dial-Up number.
- Make sure Save password is checked.
- Click Options.
- Click on the tab labeled Redialing.
- Select Redial main number only in the drop-down box labled Redial.
- In the field labeled Redial: x times, Type in 10.
- In the field labeled Time between retries: x seconds, Type in 5.
- Click on the tab labeled Connection.
- Make sure only Flash icon in menu bar while connected and Disconnect if idle for 10 minutes are checked.
- Click on the tab labeled Protocol.
- In the drop down box labeled Use protocol, Select PPP.
- Make sure only Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP applications, Allow error compression and correction in modem, and Use TCP header compression are checked.
- Click OK.
- Exit Remote Access.
- When prompted to save changes, Click Save.
- Close Control Panels.
