WINDOWS ME and 2000 PRO SETUP SHEET
- Click on Start.
- Select Settings --> Control Panel.
- Double Click on Internet Options.
- Click Once on the Connections tab
- Click on the Setup button on the right of Use the Connection Wizard to connect your computer to the internet.
- Check the Circle that says I want to set up my Internet Connection Manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN). Click Next.
- Check the Circle that says I connect through a Phone Line and a Modem. Click Next.
- Type in your Area Code and your Local Dial Up Number for the
Internet and remove the check mark from "Dial using the area code and country
code"
- click the Advanced Button.
- On the Connection Page, make sure PPP (Point to Point) is checked and Log On Procedure is None.
- Click on the Addresses tab, make sure Internet Service Provider automatically provides one is checked.
- Under DNS Server address Always use the following is checked.
- In the Primary DNS server box type: 66.232.94.2
- In the Alternate DNS server box type: 66.232.94..4
- Click Ok.
- Click Next on the Phone Number page
- Type in Your Username and Password. (use lower case letters). Click Next.
- Connection Name box (Highlight the text in there and type over it) Type in RNS. Click Next.
- Do you want to setup an Internet Mail account now? Select Yes. Click Next.
- Display name - Type in your Full Name. ex John Smith. Click Next.
- Email address - Type in Your Username. (use lower case letters). ex username@ruralnetwork.net. Click Next.
- My Incoming mail is a POP3
- Under Incoming Mail Server type in (use lower case letters) mail.ruralnetwork.net.
- Under Outgoing Mail Server type in (use lower case letters) mail.ruralnetwork.net.
- Click Next.
- Type in your Account Name and Password (use lower case letters) and check Remember Password. Click Next.
- Take the Check off of "To Connect to the Internet immediately, select this box and then click finish". Click Finish.
