Windows 98 Setup
WINDOWS 95/98 SETUP SHEET
- Double Click on My Computer.
- Double Click on Control Panels.
- Double Click on Internet or Internet Options.
- Click Once on the Connections Tab.
- "Use the connection wizard to connect your computer to the Internet" Click the Connect Button.
- Choose the 2nd Option to Setup an "Existing Internet account using my phone line". Click Next.
- Choose "Using an Internet service provider or a LAN". Click Next.
- Choose "Connect using my Phone Line". Click Next.
- Choose "Create a new dial-up connection". Click Next.
- Type the "Local dial-up connection number". Click Next.
- Type your username and password (use lower case). Click Next.
- Choose Yes to change advanced settings. Click Next.
- Choose PPP. Click Next.
- Choose "I don't need to type anything when logging on". Click Next.
- Choose "My ISP automatically assigns me one" for the IP Address. Click Next.
- Choose "Always use the following". For the DNS server type in: 66.232.94.2 and for the Alternate DNS server type in: 66.232.94.4.
- Type RNS for the Connection Name. Click Next.
- Choose Yes to setup Internet Mail. Click Next.
- Choose "Create a new Internet mail account". Click Next.
- Type your Real Name. Click Next.
- Type your Email Address. Click Next.
- Type mail.ruralnetwork.net for Incoming mail and mail.ruralnetwork.net for Outgoing mail servers. Make sure to use lower case letters. Click Next.
- Choose "Log on using" type your username in POP account name, and your password. Click Next.
- Click Next on Friendly Name screen.
- Choose Yes to set up Internet news account. Click Next.
- Choose Create a new Internet news account. Click Next.
- Type in your Real Name. Click Next.
- Type your Email Address. Click Next.
- Type news.ruralnetwork.net for News NNTP server. Click Next.
- Click Next on Friendly name screen.
- Choose No to set up Internet Directory Service. Click Next.
- Click Finish to complete configuration.
