WINDOWS NT SETUP SHEET
Note: Assumptions made in giving these directions include, you understand Windows NT 4.0 user privileges, group privileges, how to install software in general, absolute pathnames, you own and have in your possession the Windows NT 4.0 installation CD, and above all else, you are willing to read and follow detailed and specified instructions.
Warning: Make sure that you have closed all open programs, having nothing on your taskbar except the "Start" button.
- Double Click on My Computer.
- Double Click on Dial Up Networking.
- Click OK to add a Phone Book entry.
- Type RNS in as the name of the Phone Book entry.
- Check the "I know all about Phone Book entries and would rather edit them myself". Click Next.
- The entry name should already be RNS. Type in the Local Phone number for dial-up access.
- Click on the Server tab at the top of the New Phone Book entry window.
- PPP: is the default dial-up server type, and it is OK. TCP/IP should be the only Network Protocal checked. Click on the TCP/IP Setting Button.
- Click on the words Specify Name Server Addresses.
- In Primary DNS box type: 66.232.94.2
- In Secondary DNS box type: 66.232.94.4
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click Dial.
- Change your Username and Password in the Connect to RNS window to match what was provided by RNS.
- Click OK.
- Your computer should dial and authenticate your connection automatically. Click OK to close the window which pops up in front of you.
